Plaza Trough Lighting

The plaza at 1345 Avenue of America had flood light trough in the granite paver plaza that would illuminate the mural at fisher park. Water would enter the light troughs and fill up the trough and de energize the light trough.

Diaz Architect & Associates, P.C. investigated the source of the failure through various probes adjacent to the troughs. The light troughs were the lowest element in the plaza assembly with little provision for drainage to nearby drains. Recommendation consisted of creating drainage troughs to allow weepage to be successful.
